CHALLENGES

This Vanderbilt team is a unit the Crimson Tide can't afford to overlook. Vandy's offense is still not very potent but it's better than any other season during the Derek Mason era. Vanderbilt defense is stout and as good as any in the nation. Simply put, Vandy doesn't need to score tons of points to beat opponents. Their defense suffocates opponents and creates opportunities for the VU offense. Bama must get pressure on VU quarterback Kyle Shurmur who has matured into a solid FBS QB. However, the Tide must also keep running back Ralph Webb under wraps. Webb is working on reaching 4,000 career rushing yards.

Saturday's game in Nashville begins at 2:30 p.m. CT and can be seen on CBS.
